A Meaningful Passover!

    04.24.24 | Stories, Articles

Tonight, at Passover seder tables across the San Fernando Valley and beyond, families will gather with wine and Haggadot, four questions and songs, and matzah and charoset to tell the story of how our people escaped bondage over 3,000 years ago. While recipes and traditions vary, Passover is a cultural cornerstone, celebrating our collective heritage: “In each generation, every person is obligated to see themselves as if they personally left Egypt.” And, it imparts a profound lesson: the pursuit of freedom demands sacrifice and resilience. It's a message that inspires us, year after year, to confront personal challenges, oppression, injustice, and antisemitism with courage and determination. Yet, even as we rejoice in our own liberation, our hearts are heavy with empathy for those still suffering throughout the world. As we gather with loved ones, let us raise our voices in prayer for peace, the immediate return of the hostages, and in solidarity with those yearning for freedom. Whether you celebrate with traditional rituals or contemporary interpretations, Temple Judea extends heartfelt wishes for a Chag Pesach Sameach, a happy Passover, filled with meaning and connection for you and your loved ones!
